Another Busy Week

Whew, we've barely had time to breathe around here this week!  Thirteen productions made use of our facilities, editing suites, and equipment---some for the first time.  Together, they logged about 50 hours in house and our staff gave their crews approximately 20 hours of training.

Though it's still busy right now, we thought we'd take some time to share a few highlights from the week with you:

  • The band "Small Change" performed live on "Valley Homegrown" on Monday night.  (You can watch that episode here.)
  • Staff from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Small Business Administration, and other disaster relief organizations spent two filming sessions and two editing sessions putting together informational videos to help Greenfield and Greater Franklin County residents recover from Tropical Storm Irene damage.  (You can find out more about what they did by clicking here.  We'll put their videos into our Video on Demand Player once they're finished.)
  • The folks from Baystate Franklin Medical Center recorded a special "Healthbeat" show for October that is all about Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  (This show will begin airing on Cable Channel 15 during the second week of the month.)
  • Joe Gochinski, host of "The Western Mass Democrat", taped two in a special series of episodes focusing on the Democratic Senate hopefuls vying to run against Scott Brown in November of 2012.  Not to miss this opportunity, while the candidates were here in our studio, we recorded each of their three minute video candidate statements for the election page we'll put up on our website closer to the election.
  • Preparing for next month's Prescription Drug Take Back Day (October 29th) with the Northwestern District Attorney's office began with two of their staff members receiving training in Adobe Premiere (our primary video editing software).  They'll be updating one of the pieces they did last year so look for information on air and online soon.
